There’s something to be said for taking a break…
It’s April and people around here are loading up their mini-vans and hitting the road for family vacations. We were no exception this week. I turned in a new manuscript to my literary agent and now the wait begins while I start a new story.
My husband and I, along with our three children and two dogs, hit the road for one of our favorite places – a soul home of mine – the coast of South Carolina. I thought I’d share some photos from the trip. Maybe they’ll inspire you, as they do me. There are so many stories springing up from this well-traveled landscape with its haunting marshes and troubled waters, the history that marks the land, architecture and landscape. And there is the persistent charm of southern food and the slow drawl of language, a cadence that matches the song of cicadas. These low lands call to me. Hope you enjoy.
